Setting to make drag and drop never create a subtask

I am not interested in subtasks. So when I drag something, I am NOT trying to drop it on another task. Every now and then, RTM decides that where a task is about to land should create a subtask. Since I am using the free version, it throws an error and tells me to upgrade. The annoying part is that it returns the task back where it was before I started the dragging.
Could we at least let it drop a little closer to where I let go of the cursor?
It would be even better if I could just turn off subtasks altogether.

Maybe it's better to have an option disabling creating a subtask with drag-and-drop
