Hiding tasks with a start date?

"All Tasks" and your lists won't hide tasks based on the start date, but you can create a Smart List to hide tasks based on the start date. An example of your Work list showing tasks based on their due or start dates follows:
list:Work AND (due:today OR dueBefore:today OR start:today OR startBefore:today)
